Odatink Heiroing

Irritating as word verification is, I like their latest effort.

This has a bit of a ring to it, I think.  As others have pointed out, sometimes in their efforts to get us to prove we're not robots, Google comes up with a goodie.

Odatink is a character waiting to happen.  I am starting to see him.  A slightly querulous dabbler.  A mage of some kind - it's not a name that screams "I have biceps and I'm not afraid to use them" - although I suppose he might be.

"My parents gave me this stupid name and I've spent my whole life proving I'm packed with testosterone in response."

Who or what is Odatink?

Yes - I am procrastinating as I work out the opening scenes of Odysseus.

  1. I've also had occasion to notice some very excellent potential character names with the word verification. Though I have to say, some blogs have far more creative WVs than others? I'm so glad someon else thinks as I do regarding this :)

  2. Haha :) I never noticed the word verifications before really but I'll look out for it now!

Thank you for your comment :) It must be lovely to live in North Yorkshire? I feel the same about my childhood home. I grew up in Surrey and do find myself longing for that place. I think it's more about the time, sometimes it would be nice to be 9 years old again :D

    1. Really? I grew up in Surrey as well. Oddly enough in the other Richmond (we live in the North Yorks version now).

  3. I'm keeping a list on a post-it of captchas that would make great names for my game.

I drew the line at Etheala Meopube, however.

    1. That is a special name indeed. I can see her, face twisted with drugged smoke fumes as she speaks in tongues to an audience of entraptured halflings.

    2. Yes, agreed, that name would be good for a female halfling, but she'd be running a brothel with a name like that... Or a nun.

    3. That was the thought I was trying to put out of my mind :D
