Back to Odysseus

I love this picture.  I can't tell if Odysseus is exasperated by some idiocy committed by his crew, slightly perturbed by something just out of eyeshot or merely having an "I wonder where I am now?" moment.

Saw some very good auditions indeed from the Bowes children and now need to finish writing the play to accommodate them all properly.  Lots of potential among this cast including a couple of rather useful singers.

Am toying with getting sirens to sing "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from the Little Mermaid.

Starting to enjoy this now after a serious block.  Possibly enforced absence from this script has helped.

Just discovered what Odysseus is looking at:

Circe en grande tenue.

  1. I love that last picture you placed on your post. What is the title of it, please? And do you know the artists?

I'm trying to work out if the look on her face is one of drunken bemusement, or a sort of seductive self-confidence?

    I hope it's the latter - no one likes a lush ;)

    1. It's by J W Waterhouse - one of the pre-Raphaelite brotherhood. The title is "Circe offering the cup to Odysseus" so either of your speculations on her expression could be right :D

  2. Many thanks, Amanda. Just a curious question for you, what rp system do you play and are you the DM/GM or player?

    1. I play 4e - GMing on line and as a player at home when we can manage live games. We have a GM-rich environment in the home group.

Although 4e is the system I know best and like most, I'm not at all averse to others. If it's got dice and rp, I'll play it.
