Where drama, gaming and the commonplace meet.
I've always kind of liked the myconoids. They are sort of ludicrous in appearance, but I think that can just be used to add to their creepiness.
You're quite right. It did. All laughter stopped when the first party member was knocked out. Two of them were making death saves and all of them were bloodied. Dangerous critters.
In a Deadlands game, our party once was almost wiped out by a hare. At first we giggled at it and then we found out that one touch from its nose it enough to remove all the water from a person's body - and from water barrels, which is no fun in the middle of the desert.
Ouch. Mind you, I do love a surprising monster, even if my characters don't.
I love Deadlands for the weirdness. We have run away (twice) from a rabbit under a porch before. And learnt never drink, unless you have brewed it yourself.
What makes it perfect is that two characters were not present when the whole hare thing happened and of course didn't believe a word we told them.
I love these creatures. Great picture too. Hasslefree makes some nice minis of Mushroom people, always been tempted to get some.
Love Hasslefrees minis but hadn't seen the Mushroom people. Something to add to the birthday list.
Love them so much I'd even endure an attack...
Great, aren't they? There are several different brands and I've sometimes wondered about setting a whole section of campaign in a mushroom city with the Chestnuts as the soldier, Oysters as sages and Shitake as the ruling class. Something like that anyway :)
He looks like a 'fun guy'.... BUAHAHAHA!!!! O_o
:D A comment made (briefly) by one of the party shortly before they were shot down by spores.
What a spore loser... BUAHAHAHA!!!! O_o
